Those small actions lead to big progress and Richard tells of his experience making the transition from crippled by depression to being what he calls a "functional depressed person". Richard covers his upbringing, his career, therapy, and his professional growth and ties all of it back to how it impacted his recovery from a depression that could have held anyone back. But not Richard.
